Inspired by childhood experiences at Charm School - YES, I went to Charm School and learned ALL the LADY etiquette things -a double WTF - where I was taught to walk while balancing books on my head - because that’s important - ‘Charmed’ explores a world steeped in misogyny. The work examines the burdens women carry to meet societal demands while striving to preserve their identities. It confronts the pervasive effects of patriarchy on women’s daily lives, gender-based privilege, and an androcentric worldview that silences and erases women’s voices. At the heart of ‘Charmed’ is an ongoing series of eighteen parody book covers that serve as political satires of patriarchal power dynamics.
